Structec Supports Knowsley Community College Students

This month, two local students from Knowsley Community College joined Structec for two days a week for a five week period as part of their level 1 Multi-Skill Qualification.

This short placement will prepare them for work in the building sector and strengthen their on-site knowledge. During April, the two construction trainees are gaining practical work experience and an understanding of repair and maintenance as potential new entrants of the building industry.

The trainees are pictured with Danny Carty their Building Skills Assessor/Trainer from Knowsley Community College outside the Structec offices on the North Mersey Business Centre.

John (left) is interested in furthering his painting and decorating skills while Adam (Right) is keen to build on joinery skills he has developed on his college course. Both students have also had practical work experience placements with Knowsley College and North Huyton Community Futures to undertake initial training in decorating and refurbishment tasks in vacant properties in the Knowsley area.
