Structec would like to congratulate Apprentices Aiden Lester and Andy Thompson in achieving their NVQ Qualification in Building Maintenance, Multi-trade Repair and Refurbishment Operations.
Both Apprentices joined the company in 2015 having participated on our Young Construction Training Programme which is an ‘in house’ pre-vocational training programme for potential new recruits to the construction sector.
The Level 2 Qualification is highly respected within the industry, and involves gaining experience in a multitude of areas of building practice, such as tiling, plastering, painting, and other general repairs, as well as other practical skills such as Health and Safety in the Workplace, Customer Service and Team Working.
Geoff Davies, Quality and Performance Manager, commented
"We are all delighted for Aiden and Andy as they have proved all their hard work over the past 3 years has really paid off. Additionally, it also proves time invested in the Young Construction Training Programme by the key stakeholders is helping to produce the next generation of locally skilled workers which greatly benefits our company, community and the building industry as whole."
Following their participation in our Young Construction Training Programme a further 3 new Apprentices are due to start their NVQ at Knowsley Community College in September.
