John Maddox, Operations Manager, commented Structec has continued its partnership with the Whitechapel Centre, with which it has engaged in various initiatives over recent years. These have included helping to give it a spring makeover and our Quality and Performance Manager running the London Marathon to raise money for the cause.
This time, Structec has helped through the donation of food for those who are less fortunate or who have fell upon hard times. The company liaised with the centre to identify the food it was most in need of, before asking Structec staff to donate any food they can. The response from staff was incredible, and the amount of food donated was matched by the company, meaning Structec made a sizeable contribution overall. The food was delivered to the Whitechapel Centre’s day unit by Structec staff.
The day unit provides up to 60 breakfasts per day to homeless people in Liverpool. The centre does valuable work to combat starvation and poverty, and is a very worthwhile cause to support. Structec strongly believes it is its duty to give back to those who are less fortunate in the local community, and there is no better way to do so than through support of the Whitechapel Centre.
John Maddox, Operations Manager, commented;
“Once again, the response from our colleagues at Structec was amazing in supporting the Whitechapel’s cause. Liaising with the Whitechapel’s team enabled us to provide the necessary items of food for these essential meals they provide to the homeless. We will continue to support the Whitechapel going forward.”
